We organized and lead a group of 14 high school teens to the 2023 World Youth Day in Portugal. Gabriel Salibi was our in country guide for the pilgrimage. We had a very scary medical issue on our first day in Lisbon, and Gabriel got us through that extreme difficulty. He even managed to turn this big negative experience into an even greater positive for our pilgrims. Gabriel was not only a great tour guide, but also a fantastic spiritual guide. Gabriel’s spiritual guidance saved our pilgrimage, and helped us all feel the Holy Spirit every day of our pilgrimage. Gabriel made every pilgrim better. He connected with every pilgrim. We can’t say enough great things about his leadership.

I recently experienced Gabe as our tour guide.  This was my first one and my expectations were exceeded.  A few minutes after I met Gabe at the airport he assured me I would be in good hands.  He was organized and communicated with clarity.  We were given in depth history and details as we visited several locations on the trip.  We were guided through a spiritual awareness of our presence at a holy time.  We were encouraged to pray and journal about our experience. We spent the last evening together as a group and shared the "graces" we received through this pilgrimage. We recently completed two unforgettable pilgrimages with Gabriel Salibi, one to Fatima, Portugal and then along the Camino de Santiago to the Cathedral of Saint James and another journeying through Rome, Assisi, and Loreto. My son Declan and I were blessed to travel on pilgrimage with Gabe to Assisi and Rome. With Gabe, we didn’t simply see the sacred sites—we were invited to truly immerse ourselves in them. Through his deep knowledge of each place and his gentle reminders to experience them not only with our eyes, but with our whole selves—mind, heart, and spirit—each moment became an opportunity for genuine encounter. When I asked Declan what he found most special about Gabe, he simply said, “He comforts me.” That response captures Gabe’s gift as a pilgrimage leader. Whether standing at the tomb of St. Francis or within the grandeur of St. Peter’s Basilica, Gabe created a space of trust, reverence, and peace where faith could be encountered personally and profoundly. A Catholic pilgrimage is an immersive prayer that is a full experience. From the beginning, to the immediate, and then the ongoing, a good pilgrimage is transformative. The preparation of the sacred space needed in order to dispose the soul towards the greatest receptivity to the flood of God’s graces, requires both prayerfulness and leadership from the pilgrimage company. I have both led pilgrimages and been a pilgrim. I met Gabriel when he led a large pilgrimage with people of all ages, including children. Gabriel has all the characteristics to build a sacred space for your pilgrimage. Gabe Salibi served as the perfect spiritual advisor, teacher and guide for our first pilgrimage walking part of the Camino de Santiago. We completed two pilgrimages with Gabe in 2025 and cannot say enough about how much we gained from those experiences.  While hiking the Camino de Santiago was radically different from visiting Rome and Assisi, in both cases Gabe's extensive knowledge coupled with his deep Catholic spirituality transformed the time from a simple tourist vacation into a true pilgrimage.  Gabe did a great job of leading us into deeper encounters with God every day, and urging us to find beauty, goodness, and truth each morning.  He encouraged us to meditate on the mysteries of the Rosary as we hiked and to find joy in our surroundings.  In Rome, we journeyed through the Holy Doors of every major basilica, enjoyed Mass and spent time in prayer at major and minor basilicas, climbed the Holy Stairs on our knees, venerated the True Cross, and so much more.  In Assisi, Gabe took the group on a deep dive into the lives of St Francis and St Clare.  Last, we visited the Church of the Holy Family, with time for Mass, prayer, and meditation.  On both pilgrimages, Gabe provided everyone the chance to shut out the noises of everyday life and to focus on building a deeper relationship with God.  We are looking forward to our next opportunity to visit an important religious site with Gabe's excellent guidance.

My pilgrimage to Rome was incredible! I was really able to encounter Christ more fully on the trip thanks to the knowledgeable insight and spiritual guidance of our tour guide. Encouraging prayer at each site we went to helped to immerse me into the history of the Church, and grow my relationship with God. Encountering these holy sites and the witness of the martyrs left me feeling invigorated, ready to boldly proclaim the Catholic faith when headed back home! I would highly recommend, especially for young people!

Gabe served as the tour guide for our junior high school trip to Rome and Assisi in Spring 2025. Put simply, Gabe was absolutely amazing. What set Gabe apart was his ability to seamlessly integrate the Catholic faith into every aspect of our pilgrimage. He possesses extensive knowledge of history, culture, and architecture, but he went a step further by explaining how each of these relates specifically to our faith. He prioritized our spiritual growth, allowing ample time for prayer and spiritual reflection at holy sites, and he often guided us on the most appropriate ways to pray or whom to intercede to at specific locations. Perhaps the most memorable aspect of Gabe’s guidance was his “out of this world” singing voice. During moments of Eucharistic Adoration or while venerating relics, Gabe would begin to sing in an enchanting, almost mesmerizing way. Drawing on his Lebanese heritage, he would sing pieces in original Aramaic and Arabic. The ancient, Middle Eastern tonality of his voice provided a transcendent, otherworldly atmosphere that deeply moved our group. Beyond his spiritual leadership, Gabe was a fierce advocate for us. There were several instances where circumstances or logistics threatened to derail our plans, yet Gabe stepped in immediately. He was excellent at negotiating and explaining who we were, successfully opening doors and creating opportunities we would have otherwise missed. Finally, Gabe connected wonderfully with the students. From profound spiritual moments to fun interactions like karaoke, he was fully present. He made the trip not just educational, but deeply personal and unforgettable.
