lëb travel protocal — adult travel retreats
A Rule of Travel Ordered Toward the Heart
Lëb – the Heart and the Interior Life in Aramaic, names both our company and our mission.
While international pilgrimage requires careful external planning and discipline, true immersion, encounter, and transformation occur within the interior life of the pilgrim. This protocol exists to ensure that the external demands of travel serve the formation and transformation of the heart of those on a Lëb Travel Retreat.
We invite you to approach every practical aspect of the journey as an opportunity for integrated growth.
“And we all, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory.” – 2 Corinthians 3:18
Purpose of This Protocol
This protocol exists to:
-
Safeguard pilgrims during international travel
-
Establish clear behavioral and logistical expectations
-
Foster an environment conducive to personal and communal flourishing
-
Integrate external order with interior freedom
-
Support lasting transformation
-
Order in travel creates space for interior flourishing.
I. Clear Communication & Personal Decision-Making
This Lëb Travel Retreat is undertaken freely and personally. Lëb encourages you to take ownership of your own retreat. There is free time built into the itinerary to allow for your own personal preferences. That being said, this is a group trip including a shared itinerary. Clear, timely communication is essential to ensure the safety of all pilgrims and to foster interdependence as one community, One Mystical Body of Christ. You are free to deviate from the set itinerary, however mindfulness of the group must be taken into consideration.
Your Lëb Guide is committed to providing clear directives at all times.
Pilgrims are expected to:
-
Communicate clearly and directly with the Lëb Guide before making any personal plans that deviate from the group itinerary
-
Respect decisions made by the Lëb Guide regarding whether a deviation from the group itinerary is possible
-
Understand that uncommunicated or unapproved deviations may disrupt the group and create unnecessary risk

Not make suggestions to alter the group itinerary
Personal freedom on pilgrimage is always exercised in relationship to the common good.
